The public's freedom to receive information is indispensable for democracies.
If the people living in a country know what is happening, including at the administrative levels of the state, as well as the corruption, illegalities, and their causes, they will choose their leaders accordingly.
That is why journalism is one of the most honorable professions. Happy World Press Freedom Day to all our journalists who fight this struggle at the cost of their lives for the sake of professional ideals and who have paid the heaviest prices for this cause. With the exception of the journalists of the established order, we are proud of you all.
