Kılıçdaroğlu reacts to Netanyahu speaking about President Erdoğan: Unacceptable

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship by a court decision, reacted to the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Stating that the departure of diplomatic delegations from the hall during Netanyahu's speech was a historic response, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "It is unacceptable for the Republic of Turkey and our nation to be targeted from the UN podium by a war criminal."

Kılıçdaroğlu released a statement via his X (formerly Twitter) account regarding the speech delivered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the 81st United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Expressing that the UN podium is not a place where war policies should be legitimized, Kılıçdaroğlu criticized Netanyahu's remarks and Israel's actions in Gaza.

"It is unacceptable to be targeted from the UN podium by a war criminal"

Drawing attention to the loss of life in Gaza, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "The arrogant language of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the 81st UN General Assembly, which ignores the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, attempts to whitewash the destruction where over 70 thousand innocent people have lost their lives, and targets the representatives of countries that protest him, including Turkey, is absolutely unacceptable."

Evaluating the departure of diplomatic delegations, including Turkey, from the hall during Netanyahu's speech, Kılıçdaroğlu noted the following:

"The reaction shown by diplomatic delegations, including Turkey, by leaving the hall is a historic response given to this mentality that disregards international law and human dignity. Netanyahu spoke to an empty hall yesterday. Because he has already been condemned in the conscience of humanity. I state clearly and unequivocally that, regardless of our differences of opinion in domestic politics, it is unacceptable for the Republic of Turkey and our nation to be targeted from the UN podium by a war criminal."

"The Palestinian people are not alone"

Stating that the principle of "Peace at home, peace in the world" by the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is not just a slogan but an indispensable foundation of foreign policy, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital should be established based on the 1967 borders regarding the Palestinian issue.

Kılıçdaroğlu concluded his statement with the following words:

"Our side is clear; we stand with the Palestinian people who are oppressed, bombed, and whose right to life is usurped, and we stand for peace and justice. The world must not surrender to the normalization of violence and occupation. As a requirement of our historical responsibility, we cry out once again: The Palestinian people are not alone. The perpetrators of these massacres and those who remain silent will inevitably be held accountable before international justice when the day comes."
