Kılıçdaroğlu's notable assessment on Syria: 'Turkey rejected this one hundred and one years ago'

As jihadist groups launching an offensive against Assad's forces continue their advance toward Damascus, images of conflict and violence continue to emerge from the region.

While various interpretations are being made regarding the direction these clashes might take, former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has issued a statement concerning the fighting in the region.

Kılıçdaroğlu made the following important points regarding the situation in the region:

As long as our Republic, crowned with democracy, does not return to the principle of separation of powers, the future of our state is under threat and danger.

While our region has turned into a ring of fire and we are surrounded by hundreds of military bases, we do not have the luxury of drifting or making mistakes in foreign policy.

The state cannot think day-to-day!

The state's reflex cannot be late!

The state is eternal with its nation; it cannot put its unitary structure at risk!

It cannot change the demographic structure of the nation!

Baghdad looks to Tripoli;

Tripoli looks to Damascus;

Damascus looks to Ankara.

By whose order did Erdoğan, who said "I want to hold peace talks with Syria" two months ago, change direction in foreign policy again?

When your neighbor's house is burning and there is a fight there, you cannot find peace in your own home.

Turkey must get rid of this one-man Palace Regime, which gathers all power unto itself, is taken over, and can be threatened, as soon as possible.

It must be governed by competent cadres capable of establishing the separation of legislative, executive, and judicial powers, and capable of making revolutions in justice, economy, education, health, and security, especially in foreign policy.
