Kılıçdaroğlu's assessment following the attack in Parliament: 'They attacked treacherously'

During the Can Atalay session in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, AKP deputies attacked TİP MP Ahmet Şık with kicks and punches while he was speaking at the parliamentary podium.

It was learned that the first person to punch Şık was AKP MP Alpay Özalan. During the attack, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit sustained a cut to her eyebrow. Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reacted to the attack.

'THEY ATTACKED TREACHEROUSLY FROM BEHIND IN THE MOST SACRED SPACE'

Sharing on his social media account, Kılıçdaroğlu said the following:

"Remember the sentence 'Give us 400 deputies and let this matter be resolved in peace,' the bombs that exploded afterward, and our people who died, and never forget..!

Everything is hidden in that sentence. Today, they touched the most untouchable place in Turkey. They attacked a deputy elected by the votes of the nation treacherously from behind while he was speaking, in the most sacred space that should not be touched…

The blood of a Member of Parliament has stained the place where the national will is manifested. This is an attack on the blood and life of the nation. We must keep solidarity and the spirit of struggle alive…"
