Killer Semih Çelik had visited hospitals 5 times: Ahmet Hakan asked, "What is the point?"
Hürriyet newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan pointed out that 19-year-old Semih Çelik, who committed suicide after brutally murdering İkbal Uzuner and Ayşenur Halil in Istanbul half an hour apart, had visited psychiatry departments multiple times, and asked, "What is the point of these psychiatry departments?"
Pointing out that the killer Semih Çelik had exactly five hospital records, Hakan wrote, "This monster was seen at a state hospital's psychiatry department. That wasn't enough, he was attended to at a training and research hospital's psychiatry department. That wasn't enough either, he became a follow-up patient at a university hospital's psychiatry department. As a result... None of them rang the alarm bells. None of them could notice the potential in this monster. And this psychopathic killer walked among us freely."
'ISN'T THERE SOMETHING STRANGE ABOUT NO DOCTOR DIAGNOSING HIM AS DANGEROUS TO SOCIETY?'
Hakan asked the following in the rest of his article:
"- Is it normal that none of the psychiatry departments rang the alarm bells?
- Is it ordinary that none of the psychiatry departments said, 'Attention, there is danger'?
- Isn't there something strange about no doctor diagnosing him as 'dangerous to society'?
If they cannot determine that a patient who comes to them repeatedly is 'a psychopath capable of cutting off heads and killing young girls'...
What is the point of these psychiatry departments?
