In the Fatih neighborhood of Malatya, Tuğçe Pekcan, a mother of three, was subjected to a knife attack after returning to her father's house following an argument with Furkan D., with whom she lived in a religious marriage. Furkan D., who is said to have entered the house secretly, stabbed Pekcan while she was in bed. Her mother, Gülşen Pekcan, who tried to protect her daughter, was also injured in the attack.
Upon notification, medical and police teams were dispatched to the address. The mother and daughter, who received initial treatment, were taken to Malatya Training and Research Hospital for further care.

Furkan D., who was reportedly beaten by bystanders following the incident, was taken into custody by police teams after completing his treatment at Battalgazi State Hospital. The suspect was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court.
SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE EMERGES
In the footage recorded by the security cameras in the house, it was seen that Furkan D. entered with a knife at his waist and fled the scene after the attack. The recordings also showed the children who were in the house at the time of the attack running away and hiding in fear.

Tuğçe Pekcan, who is continuing her treatment in the hospital, stated that she had filed complaints many times before, saying, "I have filed complaints many times before; I am taking refuge in my state." It was reported that her mother, Gülşen Pekcan, who was injured in the attack, has been discharged.

Tuğçe Pekcan's sister, Nihal Pekcan, also alleged that a similar incident occurred a few days before the attack. Stating that her sister is a mother of three, Pekcan explained that Furkan D. had previously attempted to attack with a knife, but this was prevented by the intervention of others.
Nihal Pekcan said they want an investigation into whether necessary protective measures were taken despite previous complaints made against the suspect. The family called for the events and any potential negligence to be brought to light.
