It has emerged that Gökhan Yüksel, who was the AKP's mayoral candidate for Şişli and received 23 percent of the vote, was appointed to Emlak Konut after losing the election.
Gökhan Yüksel, who was the AKP's mayoral candidate for Şişli in the March 31 Local Elections, failed to get elected after receiving 23 percent of the vote.
According to a report by Birgün, it has emerged that Yüksel, who previously served as the AKP's Şişli District Chair, was appointed as Deputy General Manager at Emlak Konut after the election.
Yüksel, who failed to get elected in the March 31, 2024 local elections with 23 percent of the vote, had served in the AKP since 2013, holding positions as a District Board Member, Head of the 5th and 6th Financial and Administrative Affairs Units, and District Municipal Council Member in the 2019 local elections, before serving as the 7th Term District Chair.
On the other hand, Yüksel is also known for his closeness to Murat Kurum, who was appointed to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change after losing to Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 31.
