Kremlin: Putin and Erdoğan to hold a meeting

Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Russian President, announced that President Vladimir Putin will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit to be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Ushakov stated that Putin will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the capital, Bishkek, on September 1. "There are many topics to discuss; naturally, these will include the situation in the Black Sea and the issue of Ukraine in general," Ushakov said.

Ushakov also noted that the two leaders would discuss issues related to the further development of cooperation in trade and economic spheres.

Putin plans to hold 9 bilateral meetings

Yuri Ushakov told reporters, "Major international events offer a good opportunity for bilateral contacts and meetings. Naturally, we always take advantage of such opportunities. The same will be done this time. As of now, we have planned 9 bilateral meetings for our head of state."

According to Ushakov's statement, Putin will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on August 31 and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on September 1. Putin's other meetings during the summit will be with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia.
