'Kurdistan' controversy grows: Sırrı Sakık's response to Erdoğan's advisor comes without delay
The remarks made by DEM Party's Ahmet Türk in a post about the Diyarbakır representative Amedspor, stating that "a team from Kurdistan has reached the Super League," have become a subject of debate. Presidential Chief Advisor Oktay Saral stated, "There is no state called 'Kurdistan' on these lands, and there will not be. The name of this state is the Republic of Turkey. It is not anyone's place to pump separatist ambitions through football; you will know your limits and your place when you speak." A response to Saral came from DEM Party's Sırrı Sakık.
DEM Party's Ahmet Türk, who recently watched the Mardinspor-Kahramanmaraşspor match with Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun, who was appointed as a trustee in his place, made a post regarding the Diyarbakır representative Amedspor, which has been promoted to the Super League.
In addition to BBP leader Mustafa Destici, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief advisor Oktay Saral reacted harshly to Türk's post, which read, "I am very happy, a team from Kurdistan has reached the Super League, I wish them success."

In his statement, Saral used the following expressions: "There is no state called 'Kurdistan' on these lands, and there will not be. The name of this state is the Republic of Turkey. It is not anyone's place to pump separatist ambitions through football; you will know your limits and your place when you speak."

DEM Party's Sırrı Sakık also joined the controversy. Speaking to Nûmedya24, Sakık responded to Destici with the words: "These people do not have much support among the public. They have been against a solution from the past to the present and are people who have stood by all the cruel policies directed at the Kurdish people. The reaction given to Ahmet Türk's words also shows the ignorance of these people and that they are unaware of the situation."
Sakık, who also reacted to Oktay Saral's words, stated: "If the President's advisor wants to learn where Kurdistan is, he should listen to that speech by the then-Prime Minister and today's President, Tayyip Erdoğan, and get the answer from him. Before making a statement, the President's advisor should go and talk to Erdoğan and learn from him where Kurdistan is and which regions and cities it covers. These are ignorant people lacking education."
