Information provided by the prosecutor's office indicated that a summons has been issued for Denizli to provide her statement.
Mayor Denizli, who received the news while in Ankara, stated that no details regarding the summons had been provided to her.
Speaking to Sözcü, Denizli noted that the notification had been left at the courthouse and said the following:
"I was in Ankara, and I am now returning to Çeşme. I will receive the notification tomorrow. I do not know what the matter is about.
They called me and said, 'You need to give a statement.' I have no information on whether I am a witness or a suspect.
If we are summoned, we will go. I have no concerns. "
