Land at Atatürk Forest Farm was leased for 1 TL per square meter during the Melih Gökçek era

It has been revealed that a 33,625-square-meter plot of land belonging to the Atatürk Forest Farm (AOÇ) was leased to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in 2015, during Melih Gökçek's term as mayor.

According to a report by Sözcü, the municipality transferred this land to YDA İnşaat as a sub-tenant. The remarkably low rental price of the land drew attention; the monthly rent was set at only 34 thousand liras.

BROUGHT TO THE PARLIAMENTARY AGENDA

While the audit report of the AOÇ was being discussed in the Parliamentary State Economic Enterprises (KİT) Commission, CHP member Mehmet Tahtasız asked about the rental price of this land, which was leased in 2015, and the amount paid by the sub-contractor. The AOÇ General Directorate stated that the land was leased to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality on June 12, 2015, for the purpose of sapling production, and that the legal process regarding the eviction of YDA İnşaat is ongoing.

It was announced that the current annual rent is 410,177 liras (34 thousand liras per month) plus VAT.

RENT PAYMENTS FOR THE PALACE

The rent payments for the Presidential Palace, located on the Atatürk Forest Farm grounds, also came to the agenda. Upon deputies asking how much rent the Palace pays for the AOÇ lands, it was reported that a total of 57 million 520 thousand liras in rent has been collected to date. Construction of the Palace began in 2012.
