Landslide in Artvin: Black Sea Coastal Road closed to traffic
As a result of a landslide in the Arhavi district of Artvin, the Black Sea Coastal Road has been closed to traffic in both directions.
A massive mass of soil and rock broke off from the hillside and slid onto the road at the Kıyıcık location of the Black Sea Coastal Road.
Due to the landslide, the Black Sea Coastal Road has been closed to traffic in both directions.
A car passing through the area during the landslide was also damaged.
Upon notification, Highway, AFAD, and police teams were dispatched to the region.

Artvin Governor Turan Ergün conducted inspections in the area.
In a statement to reporters, Ergün said that a major landslide occurred at around 03:15 at the Kıyıcık location on the Artvin side of the Rize-Artvin provincial border.

Noting that the Rize-Artvin highway is closed to traffic in both directions, Ergün said, "We have taken the necessary precautions regarding this. Police, gendarmerie, Kızılay, Highways, AFAD, and health teams are in the region. Our Coast Guard teams are also monitoring from the sea. The landslide is still continuing in some parts. Work to clear the debris will be carried out during the day."
Emphasizing that there is 3-4 meters of soil on the highway, Ergün stated, "We have not received any information regarding whether any vehicles are trapped under the landslide. PTS (License Plate Recognition System) records will be checked for this. We are praying that there are no vehicles underneath."

Governor Ergün noted that in emergency situations, transportation will be provided via the village road between Arhavi's Yolgeçen village and Fındıklı district's Derbent village.
