Last 9 days for those renting out their homes: Those without required documents will not be able to post listings
A new practice that closely concerns those who will rent out their homes comes into effect on January 1st. With the regulation, property owners will be required to select their real estate through e-Devlet and authorize their real estate consultant. If the real estate consultant does not have the necessary documents, they will not be able to post rental listings. Here are the details...
The Electronic Listing Verification System (EİDS), which closely concerns those who want to rent out their homes, becomes mandatory as of January 1, 2025. The new regulation aims to increase transparency in the real estate sector and prevent unauthorized listings.
AUTHORIZATION VIA E-DEVLET WILL BE MANDATORY
According to the regulation, title deed owners will be required to select their real estate through the e-Devlet system and authorize their real estate consultants. Only authorized real estate agents will be able to upload their listings to real estate portals with this permission. Real estate businesses that do not have an authorization certificate will now be considered unauthorized when entering rental listings.
PILOT APPLICATION COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY
Hacı Ali Taylan, President of the Turkish Real Estate Consultants Federation, said that the application was implemented as a pilot in Bolu and Manisa starting from November 1st and that positive results were obtained. Taylan stated, “There were some technical glitches starting from September, but the Ministry of Trade quickly resolved these issues. The sector is now ready for the implementation of the system.”
CAN LISTINGS FOR SALE ALSO BE INCLUDED?
The regulation, which currently only covers rental listings, has created an expectation among sector representatives that listings for sale should also be included. Taylan said, “Our Ministry has limited the regulation to rental listings for now. However, we see that the system contributes greatly to the fight against unauthorized real estate agents and fake listings. Including residential listings for sale in this scope would be very beneficial for the sector.”
STRONG MEASURE AGAINST FAKE LISTINGS
Seen as an effective solution against fraud and fake listing problems, EİDS aims to bring order to the sector. Taylan said, “We frequently encounter unrealistic listings such as ‘urgent sale from Syria.’ The new system will prevent such fake listings and provide relief to both the consumer and the sector. It would be a timely step for our Ministry to expand this regulation.”
