Lawsuit filed 16 months after assault on TİP member by Idealist Hearths members
Uğur Celep, who wrote the slogan "One vote for Kılıçdaroğlu, one vote for TİP" during the May 14 election campaign, was attacked by members of the Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) in Kırklareli. After 16 months, a lawsuit has been filed against the leader of the attack, Idealist Hearths Provincial President Uğurcan Özer, and his associate Kalender Özdemir. However, other individuals who participated in the attack were not included in the case.
During the presidential and parliamentary election campaign on May 14, 2023, in Kırklareli, TİP member Uğur Celep, who wrote the slogan "One vote for Kılıçdaroğlu, one vote for TİP" on a wall, was attacked by a group led by Idealist Hearths Kırklareli Provincial President Uğurcan Özer.
According to a report by İsmail Arı from Birgün, Celep was beaten by five people in a patisserie he entered to escape the attack. After 16 months, a lawsuit was filed against Uğurcan Özer and his associate Kalender Özdemir. Other Idealist Hearths members seen participating in the attack were not included in the case. The first hearing will be held on December 10 at the Kırklareli 5th Criminal Court of First Instance.
Meanwhile, upon a complaint by Idealist Hearths President Özer, a lawsuit was also filed against Celep for "insulting the President." The indictment alleged that "Celep attacked the honor, dignity, and reputation of the President." However, no evidence was presented other than the claims of the Idealist Hearths members.
