There are only a few days left until the AKP's 8th Ordinary Congress. There is curiosity about what kind of change will take place in the 75-member MKYK, the party's highest decision-making body, at the grand congress to be held on February 23.

Party members, recalling the change rate that reached 75 percent in the town, district, and provincial congresses, believe that there will be a renewal of over 50 percent in the MKYK, referred to as the "A-team." A similar transformation is expected to be seen in the 18-member MYK.

There is great secrecy regarding the details of the new management list. AKP officials state that no one other than President Erdoğan can know this list. However, by giving clues about the new management approach, they state that a "new management that brings together the party's institutional memory with the new" will be formed.

3 DATES DISCUSSED FOR CABINET RESHUFFLE

According to the report by Gazete Duvar, the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle along with the congress is also on the agenda. However, there are different predictions about when this change will take place. Some circles express the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle that could be published in the Official Gazette simultaneously with the new party management, or even on the night of the congress.

On the other hand, some figures within the party, pointing to President Erdoğan's previous practices, assess that "The current cabinet took office in June 2023 following the May 14-28 elections. They have not yet completed their two years. Our President may make a reshuffle upon the completion of two years. In the same period, the election process for the Parliament Speaker, the Presidential Council, commissions, and group management will also be initiated. June is a stronger possibility for a cabinet change."

However, there are also those, albeit a small number, who think that the cabinet change could be left until October 1, the beginning of the next legislative term. All eyes have turned to the steps to be taken after the congress.
