Letter from the Adana Governor's Office to the court regarding Zeydan Karalar!

In the letter sent by the Governor's Office on February 13, in line with a request received from the Ministry of Interior, it was requested that details regarding the investigation and trial process of Mayor Karalar be provided. The content of the letter included the following statement: “As information has been requested via the Ministry of Interior's letter, a copy of which is attached, regarding the investigation/trial of our province's Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan KARALAR, I request that information regarding the progress of the investigation/trial concerning the individual and the subject of the crime attributed to the individual be provided to our Governor's Office (Directorate of Administrative and Audit Affairs) by February 16, 2026; I submit this for your necessary action.”

The Governor's Office specifically emphasized that it was awaiting a response from the court within the specified timeframe.

While no response was received from the court for a period, 5 days after the requested deadline, on February 19, the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court transmitted its official response to the Adana Governor's Office.

In the court's response, it was stated that the judicial process had not yet been completed, and the following statements were included:

“It is requested for your information that our court's hearing is still ongoing and the first session has not yet been completed, and furthermore, that at the session held on 05/02/2026, it was decided to release the defendant with a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban.”
