Lightning strike: 5 people hospitalized due to shock
In Afyonkarahisar, a lightning strike on an empty livestock barn caused a fire, while 5 citizens in the vicinity were hospitalized after falling ill from the shock of the incident.
A fire broke out after lightning struck an empty livestock barn during heavy rainfall in the Tatarlı town of Dinar district in Afyonkarahisar.
Following the incident, numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the area upon notification by those nearby, and the fire was extinguished after about half an hour of intervention with the support of local residents.
Five citizens who experienced great fear and panic following the lightning strike were taken to the hospital by 112 Emergency service teams that arrived at the scene.
While the barn where the lightning struck became unusable after the fire, the fact that the barn was empty at the time of the incident prevented a potential disaster.
