Lightning strikes cause fires in Cizre

In the Cizre district of Şırnak, 360 decares of wheat fields were reduced to ashes after lightning struck five separate locations, sparking fires. The fires were extinguished by fire crews and local citizens.

Lightning strikes cause fires in Cizre

Lightning struck the villages of Koca Pınar, Yalıntepe, Şabani, Koç Tepe, and Katran in the Cizre district of Şırnak.

As a result of the lightning strikes, 60 decares of wheat in Yalın Tepe village, 130 decares in Kocapınar village, and 170 decares in Şabani village were reduced to ashes.

Following a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire crews from Cizre and İdil were dispatched to the scene.

While the fires were brought under control through the intensive efforts of the fire crews, 360 decares of wheat fields were destroyed.

There were no casualties in the incident, but it caused significant material damage.

Meanwhile, stubble fires also broke out in the villages of Düzova, Korucu, Katran, and Siyahtepe.

These fires were extinguished by fire crews and local citizens.
