Listen to Ferhan Şensoy on crypto-FETÖ members: 'Atatürkism is not like that'

8 years have passed since the coup attempt by the Fetullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ).

One of the most discussed topics today is the fact that FETÖ members still maintain their presence after 8 years and attempt to hide behind the mask of Atatürkism. But is this new? Master artist Ferhan Şensoy explained this reality years ago in a theater play titled “Üç Kurşunluk Opera” (Three-Penny Opera).

Ferhan Şensoy passed away on August 21, 2021, but his works still shed light on today.

Ferhan Şensoy explained how FETÖ members were trying to hide themselves by using the mask of Atatürkism even back then as follows:

“Atatürk was not a fool like us. He pursued an ideal like a passion and never sought any personal gain throughout his life. We, the Atatürkists who have seen the Özal era, have lost the meaning of Atatürkism. Now, everyone except Erbakan is an Atatürkist, and even Erbakan is an Atatürkist one day a year. Fethullah Hoca is completely an Atatürkist! Atatürkism cannot be such a stupid ideology that everyone can adopt...”
