WHAT IS THE ABUNDANCE IN RURAL AREAS AND LIVESTOCK SUPPORT PROJECT?
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is launching the 'Abundance in Rural Areas and Livestock Support Project,' which aims to strengthen family businesses in rural areas by supporting the livestock sector. Within the scope of the project, under the coordination of the General Directorate of Livestock, pregnant cattle belonging to the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) will be offered to producers at affordable prices.

PAYMENT PLAN FOR THE ABUNDANCE IN RURAL AREAS AND LIVESTOCK SUPPORT PROJECT
Those who qualify for the project will be provided with at least 5 and at most 15 head of beef breed pregnant heifers. However, for those who are Veterinarians, Agricultural Engineers, or Food Engineers, this number may increase to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 30 head.
Individuals included in the project will be able to benefit from Ziraat Bank's Basic Livestock Loan. Following the announcement of the applicants, the loans will be evaluated by Ziraat Bank.
The prices of the beef breed pregnant heifers to be delivered will be determined based on the sales prices set specifically for the project by TİGEM, and the beneficiaries will have the option to pay for the animals in cash or via credit.
The animals delivered to the beneficiaries will be covered by 1-year TARSİM insurance, and subsequent insurance costs will be covered by the beneficiaries.
Within the framework of the project, in accordance with the contract made between TİGEM and the breeder, the animals will be checked by provincial/district directorates of agriculture in the first week of each month. Following these checks, the summaries to be created for maintenance and feeding expenses will be sent to HAYGEM no later than the second week of each month.
HAYGEM will forward the summaries prepared for a maximum of 15 animals per beneficiary to TİGEM, and a maintenance and feeding expense payment of 1500 TL per animal will be made for 12 months, starting after delivery.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS?
Individuals who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and are included in the TÜRKVET registration system can apply with businesses that have a maximum capacity of 200 head of cattle. Breeders who apply to the project by establishing a new business must also meet this requirement.
Each breeder will have the right to apply for only one business. Only one person from the same household will be able to apply for the project.
Applicants must reside in the province or district where the business they are applying for is located. Veterinarians, Agricultural Engineers, Food Engineers, and village headmen (muhtars) will also be able to apply to the project by establishing a new business. No insurance requirement is sought for these individuals.
A notarized lease agreement of at least 3 years is required from those who will apply to the project with a rented business.
In provinces and districts with water scarcity, new cattle businesses cannot be established due to Animal Production Planning. Therefore, those who do not have a cattle business cannot apply by establishing a new business. However, they can apply by renting an existing business with a notarized lease agreement of at least 3 years.
Public institutions, legal entities, civil servants, those under the age of 18, and those who have been penalized under Law No. 5488 cannot apply to this project.
In addition, individuals who have benefited from the Expert Hands and Young Farmer Project cannot apply to this project.
Breeders have the right to benefit from this project only once.
WHAT ARE THE PROJECT APPLICATION DATES?
Applications will be made to provincial/district directorates of agriculture and forestry according to the schedule determined by the General Directorate of Livestock, using the Annex (1) form and its attachments. The application process will begin on February 10, 2025, and will end at the close of business on February 28, 2025.
