Look what was asked of İmamoğlu's Chief of Staff Kadriye Kasapoğlu! 'The previous owner of the second-hand car...'

In the second wave of investigations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the İBB over allegations of terrorism and corruption, 51 people, including numerous high-level executives, were detained.

While the interrogation of the 51 individuals began yesterday afternoon (April 27), some of the questions directed at İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's Chief of Staff, Kadriye Kasapoğlu, drew attention. 

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, Kasapoğlu was asked questions regarding the departure abroad of the person who owned her registered second-hand car before she did.

In the question, it was noted that Kasapoğlu purchased the car in question in December 2023, and she was asked about the reason why an individual named Ö.Y. traveled abroad with the car in September 2022.

Kasapoğlu stated that she did not know the person in question and, as can be understood from the reminder regarding the vehicle registration date, she bought the car in 2023 and had no knowledge of the foreign travel transaction being asked about.

THE MONEY FOR THE SECOND-HAND CAR WAS ALSO ASKED

Another question directed at Kasapoğlu concerned a money transfer of 1 million 130 thousand 130 TL made from her own account. While Kasapoğlu stated that the transfer in question was the payment for the car she purchased, it was also reflected in the interrogation records that the date of the transfer was December 22, 2023, the day she registered the vehicle in her name.

‘NOT RELATED TO MY DUTIES’

During her interrogation, Kasapoğlu was also asked about phone calls she made with many people working at the İBB, including İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and was also questioned regarding allegations made by an individual named S.K. in a complaint filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office concerning outdoor advertising. 

Regarding the question about the advertisements, Kasapoğlu replied, “My duty is to ensure coordination between other units in the municipality and our mayor, to plan meetings, to organize appointments, and to facilitate meetings with our citizens. The matters asked of me above are not related to my duties, and I have no connection to them.”
