Look who else is being held in Prison No. 9, where İmamoğlu is staying!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested as part of a corruption investigation into the IMM, was sent to Marmara (Silivri) Prison along with 51 other people.

 It has been learned that İmamoğlu is being held in a 15-square-meter cell in Prison No. 9.

FAMILIAR NAMES ARE IN THE SAME PRISON

It has emerged that some well-known public figures are also being held in Prison No. 9, where Ekrem İmamoğlu is located. In addition to İmamoğlu, businessman Osman Kavala, lawyer Can Atalay, former Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, former Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, and manager Ayşe Barım are also in the prison.

FOOTAGE OF HIS ENTRY INTO THE PRISON HAS EMERGED

Footage of the moment Ekrem İmamoğlu entered the prison has been released to the public. While it was noted in the footage that İmamoğlu was not handcuffed, officials stated that the process was carried out in accordance with the law.

HE SENT HIS FIRST MESSAGE

After entering the prison, İmamoğlu met with his lawyer, Hüseyin Ersöz, and conveyed his first message to the public. Making a statement through his lawyer, İmamoğlu said, "We are well, we are resilient, we are entrusted to our nation."

“HE WAS STRONG AND RESILIENT”

In a statement, lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz said that İmamoğlu’s morale was high. Stating that he met with his client after the four-day detention period, Ersöz said, “He was curious about the atmosphere outside. We talked. He was strong and resilient, and he is aware of the unlawful situation.”
