Lowest pension raised to 12,500 Turkish Lira
Article 29 of the Draft Law on Amendments to Tax Laws and Certain Other Laws, which aims to set the lowest pension at 12,500 Turkish Lira, has been approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.
Deliberations on the Draft Law on Amendments to Tax Laws and Certain Other Laws continue in the TBMM General Assembly.
Two articles in the second section of the draft have been approved.
According to the approved Article 28, the short-term insurance branch premium rate is set at 2.25 percent; the President is authorized to reduce this rate to 1.5 percent or increase it up to 2.5 percent.
According to Article 29, the minimum monthly payment amount, which was previously set at 10,000 Turkish Lira per file for those receiving old-age, disability, or survivor pensions and their beneficiaries, is being increased to 12,500 Turkish Lira. This provision will be applied starting from the July payment period.
Deliberations on the draft continue.
