WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
Polat was arrested and sent to prison on March 23, 2025, as part of the 'City Consensus' investigation launched into the IMM. The investigation and detention process of Polat had become a matter of public concern, particularly due to his serious health issues.
Mahir Polat, who had undergone an angiography procedure just two weeks before his arrest, was transferred to the hospital twice while in prison after his health condition deteriorated.
Following appeals and the evaluation of medical reports, Polat was released on April 9, 2025, under the condition of 'house arrest'.
The house arrest decision regarding Mahir Polat was lifted on March 17, 2026.
