Mahmut Arıkan makes a bombshell candidate announcement: '86 million will say

Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan made statements that will leave a mark on Turkey's political agenda during a live broadcast on NOW TV. Arıkan used quite ambitious expressions while describing the profile of the presidential candidate his party and alliance processes are working on.

"SOCIETY WILL BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF WHEN THE NAME IS HEARD"

Stating that preparations for the presidential elections are ongoing, Arıkan argued that their candidate would embrace not just a certain segment, but all of Turkey. Arıkan used the following expressions for the mysterious candidate:

"We have such a presidential candidate that when the name is heard, 86 million will say 'oh, thank goodness!' We have agreed on a name that has resonance in every segment of society and will establish justice and peace."

HE DID NOT GIVE A NAME WITH A "SİLİVRİ" REFERENCE

Upon the host's eagerly awaited question, "So, who is this person?", Arıkan gave a humorous yet equally critical response, stating that he would not reveal the name. Making a reference to the climate of freedom of expression and the judiciary in Turkey, Arıkan said:

"Let's keep it secret for now so that the population in Silivri doesn't increase by one more," drawing attention to the current political atmosphere.
