Mahmut Tanal begins vigil in front of Ministry of Justice for detained students
CHP Şanlıurfa MP Mahmut Tanal has set up a tent in front of the Ministry of Justice for the young people and students who were arrested, stating that he will hold a 'freedom and justice' vigil there until tomorrow.
Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, protests were held in many locations, primarily in Saraçhane where the IMM building is located, and hundreds of people were taken into custody.
301 people, mostly university students between the ages of 18 and 22, were arrested.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced today that a total of 20 separate investigations are being conducted regarding the protests in Istanbul, and that public lawsuits have been filed against 819 out of 829 people.

MP Mahmut Tanal went to the front of the Ministry of Justice and set up a tent for the arrested young people and students.
Tanal stated on his X account, "From this evening until tomorrow morning, I am on a FREEDOM and JUSTICE vigil on Atatürk Boulevard, in front of the Ministry of Justice, for the young people and students who were unjustly arrested."
