Mahsun Kırmızıgül announces he was in Kartalkaya during the fire: 'The traces will not be erased from our memories'

Artist Mahsun Kırmızıgül shared a post on social media stating that he was in Kartalkaya with his daughter for the semester break at the time of the incident and expressed his deep sorrow over what happened. Emphasizing that no lessons are learned from such disasters in Turkey, Kırmızıgül highlighted the possibility that those responsible might not be punished.

Describing the events as a 'state of great panic and helplessness,' Kırmızıgül used the following expressions in his post on the social media platform X:

''In Kartalkaya, where I arrived with my daughter two days ago for the semester break, we were awakened from our sleep by the sounds of fire in the middle of the night. There was a state of great panic and helplessness. The place had literally turned into a scene of life-and-death struggle. The screams of children and women could be heard. While trying to understand what was happening, those terrifying moments were chilling.

I wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the injured.

Witnessing people's helplessness in such a dramatic atmosphere reminded me once again of how fragile life is. This tragic event shook me deeply. As I was leaving that mountain with my daughter, the words that spilled from her lips broke my heart: When she said, 'Dad, many people died there, didn't they?', my heart bled.

It is truly impossible to describe the sadness we felt while leaving Kartalkaya. The traces of what happened here will not be erased from our memories for a long time. May God never let anyone experience such pain again. However, unfortunately, as with every disaster, I have great concerns that those responsible for this incident will be left alone with their irresponsibility. Sadly, we do not learn enough lessons from such tragedies in our country.''
