Major development in ABB concert investigation
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed its investigation into concerts organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) between 2021 and 2024. A lawsuit has been filed against 14 suspects, 5 of whom are in custody, on charges of embezzlement and bid-rigging; some suspects were released under judicial control.
A new development has occurred in the 'concert' investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB).
The concert investigation concerning the ABB has been completed.
An indictment has been prepared against 15 suspects, 5 of whom are in custody, seeking up to 12 years in prison for each on charges of 'embezzlement'.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into allegations that expenditures for concerts organized by the ABB between 2021 and 2024 "caused public loss." Within this framework, 14 people were detained during an operation.
Following the completion of their statements at the police department, the 14 detained individuals also completed their prosecutor questioning procedures at the Ankara Courthouse.
The individuals whose statements were taken by the prosecutor—former Head of the ABB Department of Culture and Social Affairs H. A. B., former Acting Branch Manager of Cultural Events / former Acting Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs H. E., former Acting Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs H. Z., former Acting Branch Manager of Cultural Events A. A. Ç., Acting Branch Manager of Cultural Events C. A., Acting Branch Manager of Cultural Events K. B., owner of Evren Teknik Grup Müzik Organizasyon San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. O. E., and partners of Festiva ve Enfest Organizasyon Turizm San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. K. A. and S. Ç.—were referred to the Ankara Duty Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest on charges of Embezzlement and Bid-Rigging.
Suspects S. E., owner of the Univerce company; A. A., owner of the Gurudan company; E. D. and L. E., partners of the Yalınayak company; and O. C. T., an employee of the Metropolitan Municipality, were referred to the Duty Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their release under judicial control conditions.
