Major development in drug investigation: They have been arrested

A new development has occurred in the major drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The 7 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation were referred to the courthouse today after undergoing health checks. 6 suspects were arrested.

FAMOUS INFLUENCERS ARE AMONG THE SUSPECTS

Among the individuals detained on charges of drug trafficking, facilitating prostitution, and violating the law on firearms are model and social media influencer Gizem Türedi, manager Eser Küçükerol, and Kasım Garipoğlu’s driver, Ahmet Akçay. Türedi was released under judicial control conditions. However, 6 people were referred to the judgeship with a request for arrest.

NAMES DETAINED ON FRIDAY

Actress Ezgi Eyüboğlu was also among those detained on Friday as part of the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Eyüboğlu was released after her statement was taken. Additionally, it was learned that Ahmet Akçay is the driver of Kasım Garipoğlu, who has an outstanding arrest warrant against him in the same investigation.

KASIM GARİPOĞLU'S ASSETS SEIZED

During the search conducted at Kasım Garipoğlu's address as part of the drug investigation, licensed and unlicensed pistols, pistol cartridges, a large quantity of narcotics, and drug paraphernalia were seized. Counterfeit dollars were also found. All of Garipoğlu’s assets have been seized.

CİHAN ŞENSÖZLÜ ALSO DETAINED

Famous influencer and Hürriyet Newspaper magazine columnist Cihan Şensözlü was also among those detained. Proceedings have also been initiated against Şensözlü within the scope of a prostitution investigation.

As the investigation deepens, statements continue to be taken from a group of suspects, including famous names. The prosecutor's office will bring the 6 people for whom it requested arrest before the court.
