According to information obtained from security sources, the MIT determined that Dükancı, who helped bring the explosives used in the terrorist attack into Turkey by sea and provided the vehicles to transport them, was in Syria.

It was determined that Dükancı, who was preparing to flee to Lebanon, was planning to carry out attacks against Turkey's diplomatic missions abroad with organization members he would gather there, and was seeking a fake passport for this purpose.

Dükancı, who was on the orange category of the Wanted Terrorists List, was captured in an operation conducted by the MIT on the Syria-Lebanon border and brought to Turkey. The terrorist Dükancı was handed over to the Hatay Provincial Security Directorate.

The MIT had previously captured Yusuf Nazik in 2018 and Muhammed Dib Koralı in January 2025 in Syria and brought them to Turkey, both of whom were perpetrators of the terrorist attack.
