Major scandal in IMM indictment regarding Tayfun Kahraman: They listed the imprisoned figure as 'a fugitive'
Tayfun Kahraman, who has been in prison for years, was listed as a 'fugitive' in the summary of proceedings included in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) indictment.
The summaries of proceedings (fezleke) regarding the IMM indictment, which was prepared in 237 days and consists of 3,742 pages, have begun to be added to the UYAP system.
A striking detail emerged in the added summaries. According to the report by Engin Deniz İpek from Cumhuriyet newspaper, Tayfun Kahraman, a Gezi prisoner who has been in jail for years, was labeled as a 'fugitive' in the summary.
LABELED AS 'FUGITIVE'
Tayfun Kahraman, who is a convict in the Gezi Park case, was included in the list of 826 suspects in the first section of the "Summary of Investigation Documents" prepared by the police regarding the file. It was noted that the word "fugitive" was written next to Kahraman's name, who appeared at the 711th position on the list.
However, Kahraman's name had not appeared in the corruption investigation into the IMM or in the indictment that was accepted in recent days.

IN PRISON SINCE 2022
Kahraman, who began serving as the Head of the Earthquake Risk Management and Urban Improvement Department at the IMM in 2019, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on April 25, 2022, as part of the Gezi Park case.
