Male body found near Kirazlı Monastery in Erdek, Balıkesir
A male body was found near the Kirazlı Monastery on the Kapıdağ Peninsula in the Erdek district of Balıkesir. The body has been identified as Celal Yıldız.
According to the information obtained, citizens collecting pine cones in a wooded area near the Kirazlı Monastery on the Kapıdağ Peninsula in Erdek noticed someone lying motionless on the ground and notified the Gendarmerie. Upon arriving at the scene, Gendarmerie teams confirmed that the person was deceased. Following an examination of the scene and the body by the Erdek Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the body belonged to 43-year-old Celal Yıldız, a resident of Avşa Island and captain of the ship named "Yıldız 5". Yıldız's body was sent to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the incident.
