Chaos erupted after the match between Bingöl Sports High School and Şanlıurfa Güneşin Çocukları in the Turkish Women's Handball 2nd League Group G. Male fans attacked the Şanlıurfa Güneşin Çocukları team as they celebrated their victory.
Following the match between Bingöl Sports High School and the Şanlıurfa Güneşin Çocukları Women's Handball Team in the Turkish Women's Handball 2nd League Group G, the female athletes, who were celebrating their victory, were attacked by a group of approximately 100 male fans supporting the Bingöl team.
Some of the female handball players who were subjected to the attack suffered injuries to their faces and necks due to the blows they received. The athletes who were subjected to violence announced that they would file complaints against those involved in the incident.
REACTION FROM MINISTER BAK
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak made a statement on his social media account regarding this distressing incident and strongly condemned the attack.

“There is no place for violence on sports fields! I condemn the ugly attack on our Şanlıurfa Güneşin Çocukları Women's Handball Team in Bingöl. We will closely follow the process to ensure that those responsible for this grave incident are punished. We will not allow any attack to overshadow the friendship, brotherhood, and unifying power of sports.”
