Man who burned his ex-wife to death arrested: She had fought for her life for 36 days!

The incident occurred on November 2 in the Söğütlü neighborhood of the Seyhan district.

According to allegations, Muammet Güleç (57) went to the home of his ex-wife, Fadime Korkusuz (41), and argued with her. Güleç demanded that his ex-wife transfer the title of his car to him.

The argument escalated, and Muammet Güleç locked his ex-wife inside the house and set it on fire. Upon reports from neighbors, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The young woman, who had locked herself in the bathroom, was rescued by firefighters, handed over to medical teams, and taken by ambulance to the Adana City Training and Research Hospital for treatment.

Fadime Korkusuz, who fought for her life in the hospital for 36 days, passed away on December 8 despite all interventions.

Güleç, who had been receiving treatment in the hospital for about a month and a half, was taken into custody by the Homicide Bureau after his treatment was completed. In his chilling statement, Güleç defended himself by saying, "My ex-wife called me to transfer the car title, and then she poured gasoline and set the house on fire."

After his procedures at the police station, Güleç was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court on charges of "murder with monstrous intent and by causing suffering."
