'Mandate-seeker' and 'scoundrel' row between AKP and CHP in Parliament: 'These ears have heard a lot'

'Mandate-seeker' and 'scoundrel' row between AKP and CHP in Parliament: 'These ears have heard a lot'

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın stated that everyone in Parliament should use clean language, saying, "He said, 'You can only [do this] with England...' and then never spoke again; many people brought dialogue, but he never spoke, is that so? Here, not only were the minutes being interfered with, but now, the minutes have been altered. I went just a moment ago and told the official: I will go down and listen to the recording. These ears have heard a lot. I will slap the word 'scoundrel' right on the forehead of the man who calls me a 'British mandate-seeker'."

"I RETURN IT IN KIND"

AKP İstanbul MP Adem Yıldırım stated that Günaydın was making accusations regarding President Erdoğan's meeting with Trump, saying, "I said, your Chairman is pinning his hopes on England, he has turned to mandate-seeking. I told him to go and talk about that first, and upon that, he used the term 'scoundrel' for me. I return the term 'scoundrel' to him in kind; the microphone was opened for an apology, but he did not apologize."

Günaydın continued as follows:

"If intellect and heart are not side by side, and if bad intentions accompany them, this is what happens. Özgür Özel says to the British Prime Minister: 'One: Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez is taking a stance on Gaza, but you are silent. Two: You do not speak out against any anti-democratic practices, including those in Turkey. You are the leader of the British Labour Party, shame on you.' He is in such a state of helplessness that he calls this 'British mandate-seeking.' Then I say: 'I said... one cannot get anywhere with British mandate-seeking,' he says. Why is this not in the minutes? Are you not ashamed? You do not include what the man himself said in the minutes. These ears hear the word 'mandate,' and he says, 'You are a scoundrel.' Whoever calls me a mandate-seeker is a scoundrel of the highest order, I say it once again."

Yıldırım replied, "Mandate-seeking is the greatest form of scoundrelism, okay? Mandate-seeking is the greatest form of scoundrelism."
