Mansur Yavaş's 'you can keep dreaming' response: They say 'It's Turkey's turn'
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş made remarks regarding the war in Iran, stating, "They say, especially the Jews, that 'It's Turkey's turn.' We say to them, 'You can keep dreaming.' No matter how differently we think, in the face of such a situation, the Turkish nation will become a single fist and crush them."
ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş met with the residents of Sincan at an iftar program.
Evaluating the war in Iran, Yavaş said, "160 children were killed there with the first bomb dropped. Do you know what Israel's response is when it is condemned? Perhaps in many of the states we call modern, they view it as 'It's not that important.'
'Those children would have grown up tomorrow and become militants.' But they have always looked at this geography this way. Since the time of Alparslan, they have never been able to accept us in this place, which we have made our home and homeland in Anatolia.
When the ships coming to Çanakkale began to be sunk and could not pass, and there were fierce struggles there, they sent a message to the British Prime Minister of that day, Churchill, saying, 'Sir, many people are dying here, we cannot pass.' His response was, 'Are the Turks even human to die?' This statement went down in history.
Therefore, as long as we are not one and whole in this region, this attack will continue to escalate. They say, especially the Jews, that 'It's Turkey's turn.' We say to them, 'You can keep dreaming.'
"In the face of such a situation, the Turkish nation will become a single fist and crush them."
Yavaş continued: "God Almighty created us differently. The fingerprints of six billion people are not alike. The five fingers of a hand are not alike. We are not robots. Of course, we will have different thoughts. We will have different ideas. This will be our wealth, and through it, we will find the truth.
From time to time, we will criticize each other, realize our mistakes, and find the right path. Therefore, our differences will never be a cause for our division. The best example of this is the fact that a century ago, when Anatolia was occupied by various countries, they were all driven into the sea through the Kuvayi Milliye movement."
They should not dare to be so insolent as to say 'Next is Turkey.' No matter how much we may disagree on other issues, in the face of such a situation, the Turkish nation will become a single fist and come down upon them.
Let no one have any doubt about this. For this reason, in these days when there is war in our region, we must be more united, set aside our internal disputes, and look for ways to discuss how we can build a better, more beautiful Turkey."
