Mansur Yavaş's 'I will quit politics' ultimatum to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: Convention tension grows in CHP

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks that "the CHP cannot be handed over to a trustee" have further escalated the convention tension within the party. Recently, Mansur Yavaş, Vahap Seçer, and Engin Özkoç had visited Kılıçdaroğlu.

Journalist Timur Soykan revealed a striking development regarding the meeting. He reported that Yavaş, angered by Kılıçdaroğlu's words, stated that he would quit politics if Kılıçdaroğlu were to return via a court order.

In his statement, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had said, "Would it be better if a trustee came? It is unclear when a trustee would convene a convention. Who will manage the party and how until that period? The CHP cannot be handed over to a trustee. The DNA of the CHP is being tampered with. I will not allow this, we cannot allow this."

THEY HAD MET WITH KILIÇDAROĞLU

Recently, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, and 27th Term CHP Deputy Engin Özkoç had met with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Speaking on Onlar TV, journalist Timur Soykan announced that Yavaş would quit politics if Kılıçdaroğlu accepted the CHP Chairmanship through a court decision.

Soykan stated the following:

"When Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'They cannot even pay the bills at the headquarters, they cannot make appointments, I will be at the headquarters,' Mansur Yavaş became very angry at this. Yavaş very clearly said, 'What you are saying will divide the CHP; if you do this, I will give up on politics.'"
