March 8th enthusiasm in the literary world: The voices of over 800 women writers echoed in the capital
The award ceremony for the "Name: Woman Short Story Competition," organized for the second time this year by the Adı Kadın Platform, was hosted by the Ankara City Council. The finale of the organization, which aims to make women's stories and their powerful pens in literature visible, brought literature enthusiasts together in the capital.
FIRST PRIZE GOES TO "DELİBAŞ AVRAT AĞACI"
In the competition, which received applications from over 800 women from both within Turkey and abroad, the best entries were determined following a meticulous evaluation by a jury composed of female journalists, artists, and writers.

The provinces that submitted the most stories were Diyarbakır, Muğla, Bursa, Mersin, Hatay, and Batman. Participation in the short story competition crossed borders and even oceans. Women from 17 different countries, from the United States to Azerbaijan, and from Canada to Malta, sent their stories by saying NAME: WOMAN.

At the award ceremony, Selin Altunkaynak Vodina, who participated in the competition from France with her striking story titled "Delibaş Avrat Ağacı," took home the first prize.

The second prize was presented to Pınar Gözpınar for her story "Leyla(k)," and the third prize was awarded to Hava Kantar Yıldırım for her story "Gördüğüm Lüzûm Üzerine." Eda Uysal was also deemed worthy of an honorable mention for her story "Pembe Oda."

THE BOLD PEN OF WOMEN TURNED INTO A BOOK
During the award ceremony, the launch of the "2nd Name: Woman Short Story Anthology," which brings together the stories deemed worthy of publication by the jury and published by Romanoku Yayınları, was also held.

This special book, which carries women's stories to its pages, took its place on the shelves on March 8th, International Women's Day.
