Marriage dispute ends in bloodshed in İzmir: Armed attack on mother and daughter

In the Yurtoğlu neighborhood of İzmir's Karabağlar district, terror erupted following a dispute over a marriage proposal. According to allegations, 29-year-old Yunus K., along with his relative H.K., shot his girlfriend's mother, D.Ş. (50), and his girlfriend, Ş.Ş. (17), with a pump-action shotgun.

The mother and daughter, who were critically injured in the attack, were taken to the hospital by medical teams. It was learned that the victims remain in life-threatening condition and are being treated in intensive care.

CAPTURED IN A WOODED AREA

According to the report by Sabah, the İzmir Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau teams took action following the incident and determined that the suspects had fled to a wooded area in Karabağlar. With the support of the Crime Analysis Bureau and the Intelligence Branch Directorate, Yunus K. and H.K. were captured and taken into custody during an operation.

The pump-action shotgun used in the incident was also seized during the arrest. After completing their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to court, where they were arrested and sent to prison.

While the attack drew widespread outrage, authorities stated that a detailed investigation into the incident is ongoing.
