Martyr Eren Bülbül commemorated at his graveside

15-year-old Eren Bülbül, who was martyred alongside Gendarmerie Petty Officer Senior Sergeant Ferhat Gedik as a result of an attack by PKK terrorists on August 11, 2017, in the Köprüyanı neighborhood of Trabzon's Maçka district, was commemorated at his graveside on the 8th anniversary of his death.

The commemoration ceremony was attended by Trabzon Governor Aziz Yıldırım, Provincial Police Chief Murat Esertürk, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Bahittin Murat Yakın, gendarmerie personnel, Eren's mother Ayşe Bülbül, and his relatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Aziz Yıldırım stated, "We are now talking about a Turkey free of terrorism. Hopefully, with a Turkey free of terrorism, both Turkey and our state will prosper and develop even more. It will use all its means and resources against certain threats coming from outside. It will use them for the welfare and further development of its people. We will always remember our martyrs. Our veterans are always our crown jewels. We are always ready for war when necessary. We want to live together in this country as brothers and sisters. Let us grow this country by using all of our country's resources together. This country has no east or west. Everyone who holds Turkish citizenship is equal to us."

AYŞE BÜLBÜL: I WANT TERRORISM TO END

Sharing her feelings after the ceremony, Eren Bülbül's mother, Ayşe Bülbül, said, "As the days pass, my pain only grows. My sorrow is already evident. I thought the pain inside me would subside as time went on. The pain inside me is growing more and more. There is nothing I can do. Pain is pain. Even if years pass, I cannot forget my child. I am proud of my child. My child was so small. They tore my child away from me, they took him from my side. It is a great pain and sorrow. Even if years pass, I will not forget him. I am waiting for the day I will die with this pain and reunite with my child. I hope it happens as we hope. Whether our children are on duty or at home, they are doing their duty and unfortunately, they are martyred. Even those who are in front of their own door are martyred. I want terrorism to end, I want it to end. I know the fire burning inside me. That is why I say let terrorism end. I hope it ends."
