The martyr's uncle speaks for the first time about the provocation at the funeral:

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel entered the area where the funeral prayer was to be held with difficulty, accompanied by his bodyguards. Upon entering the mosque courtyard, Özel was met with chants of "Özgür, get out."

In a statement he made later, Özel said that what happened was a provocation.

"OUR FAMILY HAS NO CONNECTION"

Speaking to 10Haber about the events at the funeral, Martyr Enes Budak's uncle, Kenan Budak, said, "Our family cannot have any connection to the protests. Mr. Özgür is also a child of our family. We condemn and curse whoever did this."

"THOSE WHO KNOW WHO DID IT, KNOW"

Kenan Budak said the following regarding the events:

“The protests cannot be related to our family. There were those who wrote that ‘the martyr's father reacted.’ These are all lies. Mr. Özgür is a child of our family and a child of Manisa. We are proud of him as well.

Such a thing would absolutely not happen in our family. Besides, such things do not exist in our customs and traditions. Not just at a martyr's funeral, but even at a normal funeral, there is no fighting or noise; it is not appropriate. We condemn those who did this.

This is a disrespect to our country, our humanity, and the martyr. These are a staged setup. Those who know who did it, know. We were not expecting such a thing. In Akhisar, the Governor and Mr. Özgür were sitting together, and everyone said very nice things.

When an AK Party, CHP, or MHP member comes here, we offer them flowers and feed them. What was done was wrong. We curse whoever did it.”
