May 19th measures in Ankara: Numerous streets to be closed to traffic
The Ankara Police Department has announced that, as part of the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day events, certain streets and boulevards in the capital will be closed to traffic in both directions starting from 08:00 on Sunday, May 19th. Citizens have been advised to use public transportation.
The Ankara Police Department has issued a written statement regarding the traffic regulations to be implemented across the city as part of the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. According to the statement, some main arteries and connecting roads in the capital will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic due to the holiday events.
The statement indicated that starting from 08:00 on Sunday, May 19th, the following streets and boulevards will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions:
Milli Müdafaa Street
Kumrular Street
Necatibey Street
Gençlik Street
Anıt Street
Mareşal Fevzi Çakmak Street
Dögol Street
Gazi Mustafa Kemal (GMK) Boulevard
All streets and connecting roads leading to these streets
The Ankara Police Department has called on citizens to use public transportation and to prefer alternative routes to the specified paths to avoid any inconvenience.
