General Manager of the Meat and Milk Board dies in accident
Mustafa Kayhan, General Manager of the Meat and Milk Board, has died in the hospital after being struck by a pickup truck in the Seferihisar district of İzmir. The 75-year-old driver of the truck, who fled the scene, was apprehended shortly after.
At approximately 16:30 on the Kuşadası-Seferihisar road near the Cumhuriyet neighborhood, a pickup truck driven by Talip B. (75) struck Mustafa Kayhan (56), the General Manager of the Meat and Milk Board, who was walking on the road.
Kayhan was thrown several meters by the impact, while the driver of the pickup truck got out of the vehicle and fled the scene. Gendarmerie teams arrived at the area following reports and secured the road, while Mustafa Kayhan, who was determined to be severely injured during checks by medical teams, was taken to Seferihisar State Hospital.
Kayhan, who was married and a father of three, could not be saved despite all interventions and passed away. Kayhan's body was moved to the morgue following an examination.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver, Talip B., who fled after the accident, was caught and taken into custody in front of the Doğanbey Gendarmerie Station Command.
