Meat and Milk Board to purchase unsold sacrificial animals: 470 liras per kilogram

In his statement, Minister Yumaklı congratulated all citizens on Eid al-Adha and expressed his wishes for a healthy, peaceful, and trouble-free holiday.

Emphasizing that the ministry's teams are continuing their inspections at sacrificial animal sales and slaughter points without interruption, Yumaklı reminded that animals brought to livestock markets by producers but left unsold will be purchased by the ESK this year, just as in previous years.

Yumaklı stated that in order to prevent producers from suffering losses, sacrificial animals that were transported to livestock markets but remained unsold will be purchased by the ESK. In this context, noting that the unsold sacrificial animals will be purchased by the ESK between June 1 and June 7, Yumaklı shared the following information: "Our producers will be able to apply to our institution with documents such as the dispatch reports issued by the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry for the sale of sacrificial animals, as well as livestock market entry, rental, and transport invoices. After the necessary checks are made on the TÜRKVET system, the animals will be purchased in accordance with our institution's Animal Purchase Criteria and Implementation Principles Instruction."

Prices determined by the ESK

In this context, the ESK's purchase prices for large cattle for this year have been set at 600 liras per carcass kilogram for bulls, 530 liras for heifers, and 470 liras for cows. Small cattle purchase prices per kilogram for tailed animals were set at 480 liras for lambs, 410 liras for yearlings, 400 liras for sheep, 270 liras for kids, 250 liras for young goats, and 200 liras for goats. For untailed animals, the purchase price per kilogram was determined as 600 liras for lambs, 550 liras for yearlings, and 490 liras for sheep. On the other hand, these prices are ceiling prices and may vary depending on age, gender, yield, and carcass weight.
