Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested: Claims that the Habertürk operation will 'expand'! 'The issue is not just drugs...'

Former Habertürk TV Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, along with Mustafa Manaz, Ufuk Tetik, and Ebru Gülhan, who were detained as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, have been sent to prison following a detention order by the duty magistrate judge.

In the prosecutor's request for detention, it was stated that the suspects provided a setting for drug use in their own homes, supplied drugs to women who came to the house, and that after use, "more than two people engaged in sexual intercourse together." Furthermore, it was noted that the case file includes the allegation that Mehmet Akif Ersoy directed women to have relations with people in his circle, and through these individuals, "provided sectoral and financial benefits" to himself and his close circle.

Journalist Can Ataklı shared information in his column today that he stated he obtained from a reliable source regarding the operation.

In his article, Ataklı used the expressions, "According to information I received from reliable sources, the issue is not just about drugs. Establishing dominance through media power and engaging in organized activities in the real estate and finance sectors, primarily money laundering, are also among the pillars of the operation," and suggested that Ersoy could be "accused of involvement in organized crime" during the time of Kenan Tekdağ, who remained in office after the sale of Ciner Media. Ataklı concluded his assessment with the words, "For this reason, it is said that new operations are on the agenda."
