Mehmet Ali Erbil, under judicial control, speaks out on pension: "How can I afford it with a pension!"
Mehmet Ali Erbil, who has recently been in the spotlight over accusations of "encouraging illegal betting," complained about the high cost of living to reporters who filmed him while he was shopping. Stating that a jacket was being sold for 60,000 TL, Erbil said, "The situation in Turkey is very bad."
Famous showman Mehmet Ali Erbil, who faces up to 3 years in prison in an investigation into illegal betting and promotion, has now drawn attention with his remarks regarding the high cost of living.
'I'D RATHER WALK AROUND NAKED'
Spotted at a shopping mall, the famous showman pointed out that a jacket cost 60,000 TL and said, "Turkey is burning! How am I supposed to buy this with my pension? A jacket is 60,000 TL. I'd rather walk around naked," he stated.

SIGNS IN EVERY WEEK
Mehmet Ali Erbil was recently taken into custody along with many other suspects, including Serdar Ortaç. Erbil and Ortaç were initially placed under house arrest, but this decision was lifted following an application by Erbil's lawyers. The court ruled that Erbil must sign in every week. Accordingly, Erbil goes to the police station every week to sign in as part of his judicial control measures.
