Mehmet Özdağ re-elected as CHP Samsun Provincial Chair
At the 39th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP) Samsun Provincial Organization, incumbent Provincial Chair Mehmet Özdağ was re-elected, renewing his mandate.
At the CHP Provincial Congress held at the Atakum Municipality Wedding Hall, Tufan Akcagöz, Aylin Tat, and Ayşe Akbulut Çubukçuoğlu competed against incumbent Provincial Chair Mehmet Özdağ for the chairmanship. In the congress where 635 delegates had the right to vote, the voting process began at 10:00 and ended at 18:00, followed by the counting of the votes.
In the vote count, provincial chairmanship candidates Tufan Akcagöz received 129 votes, Aylin Tat 200 votes, Ayşe Akbulut Çubukçuoğlu 5 votes, and incumbent provincial chair Mehmet Özdağ received 241 votes. Incumbent Chair Mehmet Özdağ, who finished 41 votes ahead of his closest rival, was re-elected as the CHP Samsun Provincial Chair.
Stating that there were no losers in the election, Özdağ said that they would continue to strive to carry their party to the highest level together with the new board of directors in the new term.
