Mehmet Şimşek's niece loses her life in a fire in Batman
Two people lost their lives and 8 others were injured, one critically, in a fire that broke out in the sauna section of a private gym in Batman. It was learned that 42-year-old Emine Yağni, who lost her life in the fire, was the niece of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek.
A fire that broke out in the sauna section of a private gym located in the Gültepe neighborhood of Batman has resulted in loss of life. The facility was engulfed in thick smoke due to the fire, which started for reasons yet to be determined.
Upon notification, fire, medical, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the area. The fire was brought under control and extinguished through the intervention of the teams. While cooling efforts are underway in the area, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp stated that 11 people were affected by the fire, saying, "A fire broke out in a private gym in Batman. 11 of our citizens were affected by the fire. One is in critical condition, and the health status of 8 others is currently stable. Unfortunately, we have lost 2 of our citizens. The fire department is conducting its own investigation into the cause of the fire. The fire department has conducted repeated searches. No trace of any other citizens was found."
It was announced that those who lost their lives in the fire were 42-year-old Emine Yağni and Şanzime Sarıgül. It was learned that Emine Yağni was the niece of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, and that she was married and a mother of 5 children.
