Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated that the impact of the hikes in bridge and highway tolls on annual inflation will be approximately 0.05 points, emphasizing that they are determined to reach the year-end inflation target.

Şimşek made a statement regarding highway and bridge crossing fees via his social media account.

"WE ARE DETERMINED TO REACH THE YEAR-END INFLATION TARGET"

Using the expression, "We anticipate that the impact of the recent price increases on bridges and highways on annual inflation will be limited to approximately 0.05 points (including all indirect effects stemming from transportation costs)," Şimşek emphasized that they are determined to reach the year-end inflation target.

Şimşek noted the following: "We are keeping our disinflation target in mind in the decisions we take to strengthen fiscal discipline. With the Public Savings and Efficiency Package and other steps we will take in the coming period, our support for the fight against inflation as fiscal policy will continue to increase."
