Melih Gökçek's first statement regarding the investigation against him: I submit myself to Turkish justice

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had also announced that an investigation had been launched following allegations appearing in some press and media outlets.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's statement included the following:

"An ex officio investigation has been launched by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to reveal the material truth regarding the allegations made in some press and media outlets that unregistered money was transferred to companies abroad by İbrahim Melih Gökçek. Presented for public information."
